A smoothie is a blended, chilled, sweet beverage made from fresh fruit, frozen fruit, or frozen yogurt with crushed ice. It does not usually contain ice cream, but can contain milk.

Low carb smoothies should not contain sugar. Sugar substitute and low carb syrup can be used for sweetening and flavoring. The fruits used should be low carb fruits and frozen fruits should not have added sugar. This rule applies to frozen yogurt too.
