Starting the low carb diet for the first time

Postby rollercam351 on Thu Apr 23, 2009 2:34 am

Hi, My boyfriend and I are starting the low carb diet. I dont have much to lose im 5'5" and i weigh 130 lbs. Im not worried about what my weight is but i would like to lose the fat i have gained while not working. I've weighed 110lbs since about the 10th grade. And I gained it so fast I have quite a few stretch marks and a lot of excess fat. I have been mostly just sitting around the house eating junk food so im looking to lose about 30 lbs. Im not looking for people to tell me I dont need to lose weight or that i should just get off my ass and work out. I have been for a little over a month now and absolutly nothing has happened. And my boyfriend is in great shape and just said he would do it with me.

So what im wondering is I was planning on doing the 20g of carbs a day but since i dont need to lose a lot of weight should i take in more. I've just started today and already am dying for some candy or something I'm feeling very sick. I had 4 eggs and some sausage and a snack of some celery so far. So i've kept everything really low in carbs. But should i take in more carbs?

I also was reading on here someone saying something about vitamins we should be taking, what ones? And is doing this diet bad for you in any way? Should my boyfriend not being doing it since he has like no fat to lose?

Ok, I for one take two multi vitamins a day, 1 vit E, 1 potassium tab, 1 calcium/vit D,,, I find they help me on the energy level and what I don't need are excreted anyways,,, I also find if I drink too much coffee or tea and eat a lot of fat I feel nauseated also,,, I am diligent on drinking a gallon of water a day,,, it really does help,,, I also find I lose so much more size then weight,,, it's the fat we want to remove so weight is not the real issue, you should only weigh yourself every other week anyways,,,, another thing we all need to remember is a week, two weeks, a month,,, what do we expect,,, it took longer then that to put it on,,,, so it's gonna take a while to take it off,,, if your craving carbs after just the first day then I would say stay on the 20 carbs a day,,, you have an addiction and that takes time to relieve,,, it does get better,,, but only you and your boyfriend can decide if this is the right course for you,,,, you know your body's and you know how you feel....
