I had the lapband in Jan. and my dr puts everyone on less than 35 carbs per day. I have always had such thick hair that hairdressers complain, thin my hair and it just won't dry under those hairdryers. I have never in my life entertainedthe thought of hair loss or thinning. However, I found tons of hair behind my bed, in shower, in hair brush and just running fingers through hair. I panicked and asked my dr if it was caused by the lapband. He said it is very common in people who lose weight quickly. He said it would return in about 9 months but didn't say when it would stop falling out. He didn't make any suggestions as to promoting hair growth but i am using a very low carb protein drink and find it also curbs my appetite. I heard that biotin is good for hair, skin and nails so intend to get some. I had no idea how much my hair meant to me until i started losing it! Best to all of you sharing this experience.
