Recipe makes
1 1/4 Cup
(Calories: 96)

@ 7 carb, 4 fiber,  0 fat, 0 protein

 

 

 

 

 

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup blueberries, raspberries, blackberries each (fresh or frozen, if frozen make sure there is no sugar added) OR
  • 3 cups from a bag of mixed blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries
  • 1/2 cup water
  • artificial sweetener to taste - about 1/2 cup makes a traditionally-sweetened syrup
  • pinch of salt

Directions:

  • Put ingredients in saucepan and bring to a boil. The berries will begin to break down as soon as the boiling begins.

  • After 5 minutes, turn off heat and mash with a potato masher or fork to help break down the larger berries.

  • Boil for another 2 minutes to combine.

  • Remove from heat. Mixture will thicken as it cools.
